This time next week I’ll be in Paris. A new journey begins, and with it comes the goodbyes. Goodbye to my best friend and other half, physically apart but always traveling with me in my heart. Goodbye to my roof and the hours spent sitting there watching the world  go by. Goodbye to the green west and my horses..

But hello to new people, new experiences, new opportunities.

Excited.

Journeiful Day

Been crossing the Island named Ichno aka Sandalion aka Sardinia aka Homeland all day long, head to toe, from 10.30 mawning when mi took the ferry from “The Arcipelago” to the mainland, then buses, trains, small dreams & ice creams and finally, finally back home… this day was another blessed full day with music by I side, some sad news along the way but sometimes life brings also these kind of things… so u moor (as google language tools suggests) yuh likkle boat which has been a little bit shaken, you berth it inna your port and den place the suitcase on the house corner, knowing that u will open it up days later hoping that there’s no fruits inside of it… and ready again to see alla de familiars dem in the house close to yours…. and .. so ‘so how are you? how this and that?’ i dunno why but today i got really agitated by this public relations time…. so i went home again, opened up the likkle ’casetta’ down deh in the garnden, where the postal things are, and saw a small package, something ‘beige’, as the french dem seh… but whoa! i could even smell something before opening it, so i went up inna de home and open the thing up, L O V E L Y, a spiritual gift with many gifts inside, straight from Fi and Grace, in a paper was written GRAZIE, surrounded by mountans and things that make yuh mind flowing on… so what i was smellin before opening the whole ting was a pack of the best irish tea, I also got a Precious Necklace that I Love from second 1… and some choklate bars inside too… and as the choklate melts soflty in your tongue this present made the agitation melt in I heart and made it turn inna soft melancholy, which is I-trademark… but some good songs from the Burning Spear and some fresh tune here a one yah called “I Will” by Etana & Luciano,

and this is enough folks to make I man go to bed with almost the same smile I had while waking up in this long day full of consciousness, acknowledgment, stormwindblowingbutnahfeelnoway’ment…

I will always, always be rising

I will always be forever surviving

I will always be more than they’re expecting

I will always, I will always Be…

If I stumble I will stand up straight again,

Cause I know in my heart, I must not fail,

Even in the darkest days I’ll never be afraid,

Cause I know, I know, I will find my way,

Jah let the sun come shining in our lifes again,

And let the wind keep blowing, blow love in the air,

Keep the children playing, laughter everywhere,

Generations have passed, generations to come, nothing to compare,

If I stumble I will stand up straight again,

Cause I know in my heart, I must not fail,

Even in the darkest days I’ll never be afraid,

Cause I know, I know, I will find my way…..

Goodnight

Pages from the paper diary from the journey.

I had to wake up really early for work today, i’m spending the next couple of days greeting incoming erasmus students in the airport, which involves getting up at 7am to get to the airport on time. This did not disuade me from drinking Saturday night, so I had very little sleep. You know that sensation when you wake up right in the middle of a dream and you don’t know what it was but you can still feel it? Something inside you is still not finished, you didn’t see it through, and the emotions are coating you and just kind of stuck all day. I had that. I had this half remembered sadness and vague flashes of dream faces all day. Now i’m looking forward to sleeping and seeing it through, completing whatever needed to be completed. I have the strongest sensation it had something to do with wolves but no real reason behind it.

Some outtakes from the work I’ve been doing for Carbon magazine and Flawless magazine.

I love photography, I love creating, but when you put a deadline on something it all starts to feel heavy, like a chain around your neck. I’ve been drowning a little bit the last few days, sleepless nights sitting on the roof thinking about all the things I have to do, headaches and self doubt and worry.

But finally, I’ve submitted my editorials, I’ve sold enough paintings to live for a little while longer and my brother’s business is launching tomorrow and we’re celebrating with a party and some live music.

I feel like I’ve come up for air and I can see how far I’ve come, I wasn’t drowning at all, I was swimming. The things that matter, they’re hard, they drain you, but when it’s done and you have something you can look at and be proud, it’s all worth it.

Bunny Wailer from the Wailers created a song called Dreamland which goes like this:
There’s a land that I have heard aboutSo far across the sea To have you there, on my dreamlandWould be like heaven to meWe’ll get our grapefruit from the treeWe’ll get our honey from the beesWe’ll take a ride on the waterfallsAnd all the glories, we’ll have them allwe’ll live together on my dreamlandAnd have so much funOh, what a time that will beOh yes, we’ll wait, wait, wait and seeWe’ll count the stars up in the sky……And surely we’ll never die

This song was performed as a masterpiece by the Third World band aswell back in 197howlong,
so what’s a dreamland, or what are you to your dreamland, well, what means dreamland to I man, that’s what I was reasoning about today inna the sunset time, so when i was a child my family used to have a house straight close to a fiord where the blue almost green water meets the rockstones, i always use to imagine that house especially its garden i see it now as a golden grainfield, in front of the house there was a small hill, where i-child, my dadda and me brothers used to go for some steps ova deh, well i always used to imagine what could have been there over those hills, and all that my creativity brought was images of green green hills and valleys, and that’s just how the place i live my I-niversity looks like, Urbino looks very similar to what i used to imagine as a child over those hills, so sometimes during a sunset u think about yourself in the past while u were thinking about a fantastic future, and u find yourself in that place just in that moment, imagination, creativity and love are bridges between times, places, ages, seasons, reasons, seas, rivers, reverbs, echoes of voices and flutes….

You’ll find me here this weekend. Selling these, surrounded by artists. There are a lot of flowers and generic landscapes that the people love to hang in their off white houses. But today, a little old lady comes up to me and looks at my art for a long time then turns around and says “There are things in your souls that painting fields of flowers won’t fix.” Then she winked and walked off.
